Precarias a la deriva was born at the 2002 general strike as an action-research group within and against the precarization of life, with an special emphasis on the daily experience of precarious women. After a long trajectory of self-inquiry, "derives" throughout the city of Madrid, conversations with selforganized precarious women struggles, workshops, actions within precarized terrains (as those of social assistance or housing), most of it reflected in a book and video and in the group's website (http://www.sindominio.net/karakola/precarias.htm, the group is now working on a meeting point for precarious women: the "agency for precarious issues", at the social center Eskalera Karakola (http://www.sindominio.net/karakola).

5. Issues addressed (e.g. migration, call centres, care, universities etc.):
precarization of life, with an special emphasis on the femalized communicative continuum of sex-attention-care.
6. Repertoire of practices (e.g. direct action, information & assistance, support, performances etc.):
derives, performative inquiries, workshops, "escraches" (marking direct actions), information & collective precarious selfdefence, collective production of texts and video.
7. Initiatives and open political processes:
the group is by now working on a meeting point for precarious women (Agencia de Asuntos Precarios: Todas a 100), which will include a radio, an information point on legal and organizational tools for precarious selfdefence, a place to exchange infos and contacts and regular workshops.
8. Struggles you are involved or you know in your city (if possible, including contact):
- Caravan against the borders: a network of city assemblies born after the caravane against the fences of Ceuta and Melilla which is by now working on internal borders. Within the context of the caravan, in Madrid, there's a growing network that is putting together social workers, migrants and activist against the deportation of children.
- Critical network on the new legislation on dependant people (ley de dependencia)

- Participation in several meetings, assemblies and workshops of the euromayday network (at national and european level)
- Attendance to euromayday 2005 at Seville and Barcelona

«A la deriva (por los circuitos de la precariedad femenina)» [Drifting (through the circuits of female precarity)]. Action-research involving self-inquiry, derives, qualitative interiews and workshops.
